A Darkened Tide of Ink
The work organizes ink, bone, and sienna as distinct but interdependent presences. A shadowed tonal range and measured contrast shape its still pace. This darkened tide is reinforced by the placement of visual weight. Visual weight is dispersed across the surface, asking the eye to move without a fixed resting point. In this arrangement, surface and recollection remain deliberately unresolved. The eye is invited to complete what the surface deliberately withholds.
